Fox was braun and white
ticked, about 24 inches
tall, and weighed about 65
pounds. His VDD test scores
were as follows: VJP-57,
HZP-181, and VGP-I/306.
In my opinion, Fox had one
of the best, if not the
best, personalities I have
ever encountered in male
drahthaars. He sired six
litters of puppies from six
of my females and he
consistently produced
offspring that had his same
great temperament and
natural abilities. Fox had a
very stylish point, was
tenacious on track, and was
very cooperative in the
field. He was a real
pleasure to be around
whether it was hunting with
other dogs or at home laying
on the couch.
I believe giving credit
where credit is due. Fox was
very instrumental in moving
my breeding program in its
positive forward direction.
That is the reason you
see Fox on the pedigrees of
my C, K, L, Q, R, U and Y
litters.

Blacky von der Roten Beeke |
Blacky was approximately 25
inches tall, black and white
ticked, and weighed about 65
pounds. His test scores were
as follows: VJP-69, HZP-185
and 208, and VGP-Prize
II/288. Blacky was imported
by GNA member Jim Dunn in
the late 1970's.
Unfortunately, not many of
Blacky's offspring were
tested; however, he did
produced some really
talented drahthaars. While I
was never able to breed to
Blacky, I researched his
pedigree and made the
decision that this was the
drahthaar I wanted to line
breed on. If you look at my
females' pedigrees you will
see Blacky's influence.

VJP-63.
Fox was bred to Inga to

he was a shorthair
throwback, Fox could handle
the harshest of hunting
conditions. This was due to
his intense prey drive and
desire to produce game for
his owner. Fox passed on his
personality and natural
abilities to the puppies he
and Inga produced. Fox was
HD-free.

line-breeding on Blacky, I
felt it was will worth the
effort to send my females to

impressed with how focused
Indy was. He was primarily
an upland bird dog in Kansas
and had lots of exposure to
bobwhite quail. There was
not a lot of difference

it came to hunting, both
were very intense once they
